I have been spending time converting onto the Yale with over 6 hours flight time under my belt now with 3 hours in the Chippy first.
This has involved upper air work and a lot of circuit work. Key learning points have been, foot off the brake ! guide the plane with light touches of rudder supported by power control. On take off keeping the aircraft straight monitoring the RPM and keeping her in balance. With downwind checks complete prepare for finals. Here final flaps, carb heat in, then hit the numbers in balance at approx. 80mph. the challenge for me has been flaring at the correct moment not to early or late. ! This I hope to nail in the coming weeks
